When the world began to change due to the Terrigen Mists, Magneto created the Sentinel City as a mutant utopia. Toad was invited and was surprised when the now kind Magneto offered him friendship after years of humiliation, for years Toad sat by Magneto's side as an equal.
Until, for unknown reasons, Toad and Magneto switched powers. Toad the new Master of Magnetism forced Magneto to act as his jester for many years to come torturing and humiliating him.
During the time Iron Maiden and the Iron Men visited Sentinel City, they freed Magneto, returned his powers and helped defeat Toad who commited suicide soon after. He was brought back to life by Magneto who used his powers of magnetism to heal him, again offering him friendship. He is currently staying with Magneto at Sentinel City.
