Vindicator was the leader of Alpha Flight Canada's top government super hero team. He crossed paths with The Six while they were fighting The Pack in Canada. Vindicator told Havok that the Pack are rogue government operatives and will be arrested, and if The Six were not out of Canada within the hour they to would be arrested also.

Sometime after The Pack were re-captured Logan managed to escape back into the Canadian wilderness. On his way out of the Weapon-X facilities he attacked Hudson, leaving him for dead.

Hudson was not yet dead though and after a few major enhancements by the Weapon-X scientists he was back in action, this time to hunt down Logan. In an attempt to re-capture Logan Hudson released Creed and Wilchild. Creed went renegade and ended up killing Kyle, and taking Logan's family hostage. Hudson asked for Logan's help to bring Sabertooth in, promising safe passage for him, Havok and Jean Grey through Canada. James betrayed them and after they stopped Creed he came back at them with re-enforcements. When Cap went berserk and slaughtered the Canadian troops, Avengers and the Professor, Mac was not seen, so he may have escaped.

Previously he wore a battlesuit which served as an exoskeleton, magnifying the strength of its wearer. It can create a protective force field that absorbs energy. The battlesuit can shoot beams of concessive force, electromagnetic pulses, and plasma bolts.

Due to Logan's attack Hudson no longer wears the Vindicator suit, but instead was remodelled by the tech coats at the Weapon-X Program. He now appears more machine than human, but what the new enhancements can do to his body are unknown.
