Pietro Maximoff is the son of Magneto. He, like the other X-Men, has returned to find the Earth in turmoil, and aided Havok to put order back in the world. Quicksilver and the rest of the X-Men were involved in the final defeat of the Goblin Queen, but was apparently killed by the newly reinstated S.H.I.E.L.D..
He and the other X-Men were saved by their ally, Apocalypse, and taken to his Antarctic base.
Quicksilver possesses superhuman strength primarily in the lower body as part of his body's adaptations for running. With his upper body he can lift (press) approximately 1000 pounds. He can leg press approximately one ton under optimal conditions.
Quicksilver is a mutant who possesses the superhuman capacity to think and move at great speeds.
