According to the column, X-Factor is a four-issue mini-series that will star three Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Wolverine, and Nightcrawler. Entertainment Weekly writer Jeff Jensen will pen the series, which he described as "X-Men meets Mississippi Burning meets The X-Files."

"Other than that, the new X-Factor will feature large doses of mystery, murder, religion and politics - not to mention prosthetic limbs," Jensen added. "I'm serious."

Jensen said he's sworn to secrecy about the details of the new book.

"It's an epic mystery set in the X-Men universe that takes a new look at things from an unlikely point of view," he said. "The X-Men have always been about (allegorically, anyway) racism and the differences in our country and culture. X-Factor plays with a lot of the toys created in the past year in the X-Men world. It builds on the contributions by Grant Morrison (New X-Men} and others."

British artist Arthur Ranson will provide the series' visuals. Ranson also created the initial teaser poster (above) that was unveiled by Marvel last week. (See "X-FACTOR TO RETURN IN APRIL? (http://x-mencomics.com/xfan/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63)")
