Along time ago Shadowcat was a member of the X-Men, but when her best friend Storm was kidnapped by Dracula and turned into a vampire, She went to kill her. Her mission was not successful and she was beaten by Storm and became her servant. She has been living at Bloodstorm's castle looking after Forge.

But when Bloodstorm was recently taken over by the Goblin Queen, Forge and Kitty fled and eventually met Sebastian Shaw, becoming the Black Queen of the Hellfire Club.

Shadowcat possesses the ability to pass through solid matter.

Was it ever truly stated that Storm had transformed Kitty into a vampire? I ´m positive she didn´t and just used her as a servant.

If I remember well, Bloodstorm just put Kitty under her thrall to take care oif Forge. Maybe in the end she was turned into a vampire, but these issues weren't published in France

It was revealed in Mutant X #13.

Kitty went after Storm with the intention of killing her and wound up getting transformed by her into a Vampire.

Colossus stated at the end of the story that Kitty was as dead to him as the tree he was hacking, so I'm guessing she is a vampire.

Wait a second: Kitty was bitten - that doesn´t automatically mean she was transformed. Forge after all, was regularly bitten (being Storm´s bloodbank), but stayed human.
I read Colossus´comment at the end differently: they weren´t aware of what had happened (asn either Kitty nor Storm had returned) and simply assumed Kitty was dead.
There was really no hint that showed Kitty acting as a vampire (craving blood, vampiric powers, the works)
