Alex summers was orphaned as a child when the plane piloted by his father and carrying himself and his immediate family exploded in the skies over Alaska. While it is strongly suspected that the accident was caused by something other than mechanical failure, the incident left Alex believing himself to be the sole survivor of the Summers family.

Alex was placed in the custody of the state when his one living relative, his grandmother, was deemed unfit to raise him. after spending several years in an orphanage in Omaha, Nebraska, Alex was placed in the foster care of Professor Charles Xavier, Eventually becoming one of the founding members of Xavier's mutant team, the X-Men.

Some years later, when Professor Xavier became too ill to lead his team, he placed the X-Men in the hands of his rival, Magneto. This decision, to entrust the well-being of the team to the man who once lead the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, caused great dissension in their ranks. Several members left the group, forming a separate team whose mission was to uphold the ideals taught by Xavier. This team, for a time, was known as X-factor, and its leader was Havok.

In between the time that X-Factor formed...Operating as a government agency...and disbanded, evolving into the team currently known as the Six, Alex Summers fell in love with Madelyne Pryor, and their marriage produced one child, Scott.

But Havok and Maddie's relationship was not without it's problems when Havok had an affair with Sue Richards, of the Fantastic Four. When Maddie found out she and Ice-Man ended up becoming close friends, which made Havok jealous, causing him to destroy one of Hank McCoy's inventions which would have reversed Loki's incantations. This Accident also caused Hank to lose his intelligence.

While on a mission Havok and the rest of the Six were attacked by a group of Sentinels. The Six were winning, until one of the Sentinels fired a energy blast at Maddie. Havok jumped in front of the blast saving Madelyne's life.

Havok is a mutant with the superhuman ability to absorb ambient cosmic energy into the cells of his body, transform it in an unknown manner, and release it as waves of energy that heat the air in their path enough to turn it into plasma. (Plasma is a super-heated state of matter consisting of charged subatomic particles.) These waves will emanate from his body in all directions unless he purposefully tries to channel them in single directions, usually along the length of his arms. Havok is himself immune to the intense heat he creates. Whether he is immune to intense heat from other sources is not yet known.

Wasn't it suggested that the MX Havok was alive and well on 616's Earth?

Not that I know of. As far as I know he's as dead as a door nail.

He was seen in a flashback.

When the Brute was trying to heal Bob's condition a jealous Havok secretly attacked the experiment also causing Brute to lose his intelligence and forget the whole thing.

Not what I'm talking about. Someone once mentioned to OUR Alex the possibility that his counterpart was in 616. It might have been Sinister, it might have been Beast, but I'm pretty sure it happened.

Ok, just re-read issues 12-32...can't see anything that suggests this...

I find it hard to believe he's alive, when he was killed by the Sentinel, Havok possessed his body. The only way he'd have survived is if he jumped over to Havok's old body, which was dead anyway and at the bottom of the harbor no less...
