(See "TISCHMAN UNPLUGS CABLE (http://x-mencomics.com/xfan/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=61)" and "MACAN PLUGS CABLE BACK IN (http://x-mencomics.com/xfan/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=62)" for more details.)

Macan told X-Fan that his stories will take the "real world angle, probably" and that the series will continue to feature "global hot spots, to some extent".

When pressed for more details, Macan replied that he isn't one to supply his own hyperbole.

"I am severely impaired when it comes to today's hype-oriented industry: I don't think in advance, I don't plot in advance, I detest synopses," Macan said. "When I'm forced to write a synopsis the final script is always about something else. None of my Previews solicitations fit the actual book. See what I mean?"

"So, the best I can say is that #105-107 will be self-standing issues (for that is what I promised {editor} Andrew {Lis}) connected with a certain fil rouge. They'll probably be about Cable. Then again, maybe not."

Meanwhile, Lis provided more details about Macan's upcoming tenure in a recent press release from Marvel.

"Together, Darko and Igor {Kordey, series artist} will be taking Cable on a wild ride that will culminate this July," Lis told Marvel's Bill Rosemann. "I don't want to say too much about the first arc, but we will see a completely unexpected take on the Askani religion, and a few radical changes in the status quo. All of this will follow Darko's customary crisp scripts dealing with realistic consequences for all involved. We'll make you think with this book."

"The thing I noticed first about Darko is his name. He's named 'Darko', and that sounds so much cooler than Andrew. Actually it's because Darko is smart, and he writes characters first. The emotional anchors he lays for them are very solid, and he crafts his story in a way to expose each character to its core value and flaws. In addition, he respects his audience and his subject matter without being overly serious. He understands the necessity of using well-placed, subtle humor. And he's got a cool name."

"I've just finished reading the plot to Cable #105, and I had very, very few notes. That doesn't happen often, since I am a wordy guy," revealed Lis. "Darko's done his homework, is respecting the groundwork set in place by Tischman, while subtly moving the character to a different place. The stories are very engaging, and deal with Cable's interactions with a crazy world that he's trying to control. Ultimately, that's one of the themes we'll be dealing with: Cable's borderline fascist take on the world, and how that forces him to deal with the problems around him. If you're looking for something specific, let's just say Darko's unique feel will be his unique perspective as an Eastern European writer who still resides in Croatia. No one else working for Marvel can make that claim. Oh, and did I mention his cool name?"

The press release also announced that May will see the release of the Cable: Shining Path trade paperback which will collect Tischman and Kordey's first story arc from issues #97-100.
