According to X-Men Unlimited editor David Bogart, issue #34 is still on tap for release this month but without the aforementioned Claremont/Sienkiewicz story.
Instead, Bogart told X-Fan in a recent phone conversation that issue #34 will now feature a White Queen story by Karl Kesel and James Fry; a Sunfire story by Steven Grant and Trevor Von Eden; and a Jubilee and Skin story by artist collective UDON, who also provided the issue's cover.
Regarding the New Mutants story, Bogart told X-Fan that a good possibility exists that the story will still see print, but it is dependent on the scheduling of both the book and artist Bill Sienkiewicz.

The issue will feature a cover by Rising Stars artist Keu Cha.
In other X-Men Unlimited news, the Newsarama (http://www.comicon.com/ubb/Forum13/HTML/000625.html) Web site recently featured a line-up of other creators tapped to work on the title in the coming months. In fact, the schedule is so full that the book will go monthly from March until May, after which it will resume its bi-monthly schedule.
Some of the creators currently lined up include Kaare Andrews, Darko Macan, Joe Chido (who will be painting a Magneto story), David Connolly, Jeff Jensen, John Totleben, Tom Peyer (writing a story from a Sentinel's point of view which will feature computer-generated artwork), and Jason Pearson (writing and drawing an 18-page Storm story).
"I'm still talking to people, and have specific ideas for different creators that I'll be talking to in the coming days," Bogart told Newsarama. "It's a matter of bringing in some really high profile people, and some other people who just might not approach X-Men normally, and this book is a great place for them to try it out."
