Antares Draco was a member of the Empire during the reign of Emperor Roan Fel. Before and during the Sith-Imperial War, Antares, under Roan’s guidance, learned to use to use the Force to become an Imperial Knight. He also has feelings for his master’s daughter, Marasiah Fel. By the war’s end, Roan and Draco escaped from Coruscant after hearing about Darth Krayt’s plan to kill the emperor and seize the Imperial Throne for himself. Following their escape, Draco and the other Imperial Knights helped Roan establish a resistance against the One Sith. Antares would also become leader of the Imperial Knights and developed an arrogant attitude that his knights are superior to other Force-users, including both Jedi and Sith.

They were then notified of the Sith hunting down Marasiah Fel. At first Antares reluctantly obeyed Roan’s orders to stay put, but after hearing that Sia is on Vendaxa, he and fellow knight Ganner Krieg went there in a pair of Predator starfighters. Just as they made it to the jungle planet, the two knights were shot down by the Sith’s Fury ships. They ejected before the crash and helped to defend Sia against the increased number of Sith present. While Marasiah condemned Draco’s rescue attempt, he proclaimed that he was in love with her, to which she had known for some time. Antares, Sia and the others managed to escape from Vendaxa, but the princess suffered serious injuries that could kill her. Cade Skywalker offered to heal Sia, but Draco blamed him for what happened and wouldn’t let him help. Sia’s friend Astraal Vao then reasoned with Antares to let Cade save Marasiah. Once the princess’s life was restored, Antares and the others brought her back to Bastion.
Marasiah was safely returned to Roan, but the former emperor was furious with Antares and Ganner for defying his orders. While he awarded them with medals to maintain public face, Roan told Antares to forget about ever marrying Sia. Following the award ceremony, Antares and Ganner were dispatched to the space station called the Wheel. There, they were to protect the Imperial Captain Mingo Bovark as he engaged in peace talks with Admiral Gar Stazi of the Galactic Alliance fleet. These negotiations were sabotaged by the Sith, which caused a fight between the Imperial Knights and Stazi’s escort. Antares saved Captain Bovark from the Admiral, who blamed them for this attack. Draco, Bovark and Ganner were expelled from the Wheel by the station’s administrator.
In the weeks following that incident, Antares remembered what Roan told him and kept his distance from Sia, who was now an Imperial Knight. The princess eventually confronted him in the Pellaeon Gardens and started a romantic relationship with him, despite her father’s discouragement.
Antares, Marasiah and Ganner were later sent on a diplomatic mission to the New Jedi Order at Taivas. As Sia began negotiations between Roan Fel and the Jedi, Cade Skywalker spoke of his idea to kill Darth Krayt. Under Sia’s orders, Draco, Krieg and fellow Imperial Knight Azlyn Rae, joined Cade in his agenda against the Sith Lord. While en route to the planet Had Abbadon, they were met by the ancient Jedi Celeste Morne, who joined them on their mission.
