In the year 2525, humanity began to abandon the Earth. By 2365 the United States fell to a revolution placing a Monarchy in place of democracy. Each city fell to the rule of individual Lords while the general population lived in constant fear.

The Outsiders, possibly a small group of five, has broken through building defences. Guards attempt to hold them off but cannot match their skills since The Outsiders are human while the guards are only robots.

Sprit pays the doctor a visit, preparing to go outside the compound on official business.
Her fitness is assessed and she is properly immunized then given an electronic belt to wrap around her leg to use as needed.

Although Spirit is a adept and ruthless fighter, she was taken by surprise by a robot called Sick Machine and taken to Mangonel, the king. She awakens painfully and pounces on Mangonel then holds a weapon to his head.

Before she can shoot, Mangonel asks why she is doing this, calling her Tania. He explains that she had been taken away; that she is his queen. She remembers him as her husband John, but due to her programming she cannot stop herself and sheds a tear.
