As a young man he had visions of a far off land and of an alluring exotic woman. Adam joined the Third Crusade and traveled south to the Middle East. The woman of his vision was revealed to be an imprisoned Djinn, a supernatural being. During his travels in the Middle East, Adam rescued her. The Djinn loved Adam, and he was made immortal and impervious to harm.
Over the course of the 800 years that followed Adam and the Djinn had many children. Their children were possessed of superhuman abilities and some an affinity for the supernatural.
For centuries the Clan Destine actively tried to help establish a utopian ideal.
In 1374 Adam and his son, Thaddeus, escorted another son, Albert, to the Shalu Monastery in Shigatse, Tibet.<img src="http://www.comixfan.com/xfan/images/headshots/marvel/Jasmine&GracieMayan.gif" width=150 height=230 align=right hspace=10 alt="Gracie and Jasmine's Aztec Adventure">
In 1519 Jasmine, in possession of a Spanish nobleman (her new host body), and a sixteen year old Gracie traveled to the new world and attempted to stop the slaughter of the Aztecs by the Spanish. There they encountered the cosmic demon Synraith.
In 1612 Adam traveled to Russia to help establish the Romanov Dynasty. In 1615 Adam encountered a trio of alien scouts and single handedly deterred an alien invasion. That same year the Clan Destine was in Japan protecting the Shogun Tokugawa.
<img src="http://www.comixfan.com/xfan/images/headshots/marvel/DestineOldPhoto.gif" width=230 height=150 align=left hspace=10 alt="Guild Photgraph">In 1849 Adam, Maurice, Gracie, Florence and Jasmine infiltrated the Guild (a secret society) and “slew four Guild brothers”. Jasmine had a new host body, a Persia Indian male.
Sometime, possibly 1949, Adam and Wolverine battled Chen Yu.
Jasmine and Gracie came into contact with Synraith again in the late 1950’s. At this time Jasmine had a native American Indian female host body and together with Gracie they battled the cosmic demon with help from a young world weary Charles Xavier.
In 1963 the family was together in seemingly in good spirits. However Adam’s wife was absent. The Clan Destine appeared in a photo that included Adam and his children; Jasmine (still in possession of the native American Indian female host body), Maurice, Florence, Newton, Walter, William, Dominic, Vincent, and Samantha. The photograph was taken by Gracie.<img src="http://www.comixfan.com/xfan/images/headshots/marvel/clandestinefamilyphoto.gif" align=right hspace=10 alt="ClanDestine family photo">
Years later twins were born to Adam and the Djinn. Adam was forced to kill his son Vincent. Out of despair, Adam went into exile in deep space. The rest of the Clan Destine dispersed across the globe.
In deep space Adam longed for death, however during a chance encounter with the Silver Surfer he experienced visions of his children dying. Adam returned to Earth to rescue them. A creature named Lenz sent his “children” to attack the Clan Destine, in a search for a device called the Gryphon. They killed Florence and Maurice while looking for the Gryphon. Jasmine, now a caucasian female named Kay Cera, united with Dominic, Walter, Samantha and the twins to stop Lenz. In the end it was Adam who defeated Lenz, and Jasmine had yet another new host body that of a young Spanish woman. Adam remained on earth to live with his children.
The Clan Destine joined with the X-Men to battle the cosmic demon Synraith. During the battle Adam recognized Wolverine who he had met long before but believed dead.
The Clan Destine has become a group of interest to two private groups, Alpha and his Omegans and the Guild. Alpha has recently launched an attack against the various members of Clan Destine. Meanwhile the Guild keep a watchful eye on the Destine family, gathering information and manipulating individuals and events from behind-the-scenes.
The Clan Destine remains in Ravenscroft, England, and the family members continue to be active adventurers and battle crime.
