Death: Power Boy
The past: Joker holds pop-star Jenni hostage during one of her live concerts, with an oversized gun pointed on her face. Behind them, the New Teen Titans have their hands full fighting Bizarro. Bizarro slams Cyborg into Starfire, momentarily distracting Wonder Girl, and Bizarro grabs Wonder Girl by her throat. Enraged by seeing her friend in danger, Starfire flies towards Bizarro, but he manages to grab Starfire by her throat as well.
Meanwhile, Robin and Changeling have gotten closer to the Joker and his hostage. He reveals to have himself cuffed to Jenni, making it harder for the heroes to get her to safety. Or so the Joker thinks. Changeling changes himself into a bee, and while the joker is distracted, Robin breaks the chain from the cuffs with a well placed Batarang. Changeling changes into a big ape, grabs Jenni, and gets her to safety. That leaves the Joker alone against Robin. Well, the Joker and his very big gun. But before he can fire a single bullet, Kid Flash uses his powers to take the gun from the Joker. But the Joker then reveals that it isn’t just a gun. Kid Flash quickly opens the gun, and finds a bomb inside, ready to go off in just seven seconds! Kid Flash uses all the speed he’s got to get himself and the bomb away from any civilians. With three seconds to spare, he assumes he has enough time to throw the bomb away…but then the bomb explodes!
The Joker had set the bomb to go off with three seconds left. Raven envelopes Joker in her cape. All being know fear Raven assumes, but the Joker is not struck with terror, he just finds it funny, and laughs out loud.
Meanwhile, Wonder Girl manages to kick Bizarro in the face, resulting in Bizarro throwing Wonder Girl up through the roof of the stadium. With Wonder Girl away, Starfire now has the chance to use her powers. She figures that Bizarro is the opposite of Superman, and since Superman gains strength from the sun, Bizarro might be weakened by it. Starfire uses her powers, but the weakened Bizarro still manages to hit Starfire before she can knock Bizarro out.
That’s when Kid Flash returns. He survived the explosion by vibrating, and went to look for a device to stop Bizarro. The device wasn’t at the sixteen places Robin told him it could be, so he went to S.T.A.R. Labs. He opens the box and the blue Kryptonite inside knocks out Bizarro. Robin knocks out the Joker with one well placed fist to the face.
Changeling comments that together, nothing can stop the Teen Titans. They all agree and say “Titans together! Together forever!”.
The present: Having left the current Teen Titans team, Cyborg thinks it’s time to put together another team of Teen Titans, one with all mostly inexperienced heroes taught by the older generation. He calls in all his old pals from his first Teen Titans team, but they all decline for various reasons.
Nightwing is the last he calls, but he also says no. He agrees that what Cyborg is trying to do makes sense, but he just got off another team, the Outsiders, and the time just isn’t right.
Cyborg then just decides that it’s up to him alone to whip these newbies into shape. The new members are Anima, Little Barda, Power Boy, Lagoon Boy, Son of Vulcan, Hawk and Dove.
Hawk is just getting out of the shower, all ready to go to the first meeting, after her weird one night stand experience with Power Boy, who had her put on a Supergirl costume. Together with her sister Dove, they leave for the new Titans building.
On their first meeting of the new Teen Titans East, Cyborg explains that they need to work hard before they can call themselves a team. Outside, their first mission is for the rest of the group to try nailing Power Boy’s butt to the wall.
Anima is the first to try, but is easily shaken off by Power Boy, who sees himself as easily becoming the new team’s leader. Next up is Lagoon Boy, who grabs Power Boy from behind. Power boy easily turns the situation around, and now Lagoon Boy is held tight by Power Boy. But Lagoon Boy is not defeated yet, and reveals his sharp puffer fish quills, hurting Power Boy. He angrily kicks Lagoon Boy away, but before he has a chance to catch his breath, Little Barda knocks him to the ground, hard. Son of Vulcan follows it up with a swing of his sword, and just misses Power Boy‘s head. Both Little Barda and Son of Vulcan get ready to knock Power Boy out, but Power Boy claps his hands, and both his latest attackers are swept away by the force.
Power Boy boasts who else wants to try to kick him, the big man, off the mountaintop. Hawk and Dove would like to try. Power Boy encourages them to hop on, swinging his fist towards Hawk, but she replies to already having taken that ride. Power Boy is confused, asking if he knows her. Hawk asks him if he can recognize her without the cape and short skirt, slamming him full force into the woods nearby.
Before anyone can go after Power Boy, Dove shouts them all to freeze. It’s six against one, but they were pretty much losing, so it’s time to act like a team. Dove takes charge, asking if the flying Anima has seen Power Boy leaving the woods. She confirms he’s still in there somewhere. Dove instructs them to surround him, closing in on Power Boy together.
What they find however, has them struck with awe. Power Boy, dead, impaled by a tree branch with half his body heavily burned. Dove quickly contacts Cyborg, but before any of them can tell what they have stumbled upon, they are all being impaled by lasers. They all fall to the ground, heavily wounded. When Cyborg arrives, he sees a big glow from above, looks up, and a big ball of fire lands right on top of him. All that remains of Cyborg is his upper torso, in a big crater.
