Jack Phantom, the sergeant at Precinct Ten, has been in the police business from the beginning. She was the first to welcome new officer Toybox to the precinct, and with her partner Lieutenant Peregrine she led the hunt for the Libra Killer (M’rrgla Qualtz).
After a young prostitute, Immune Girl, was found decapitated in an alleyway, assumedly by the Libra Killer, Jack Phantom and Peregrine set off to question the girl’s last customer, Andy “Airbag” Soames. Soames panicked under questioning and ‘inflated’, breaking Peregrine’s ribs. Jack Phantom subdued Soames, but Peregrine’s condition meant that Jack would have to take on the case by herself.
Jack Phantom took control of the physical work of tracking down Libra with the help of Dust Devil and Shock-Headed Peter. With a lead from Neural ‘Nette, Peregrine forwarded information to Jack and her crew. Jack took her new squad into the Neopolis sewers, where Libra was reported to have fled. There, she faced a new dilemma, as Libra could even attack her in her intangible form. It took the aid of Hyperdog and Shock-Headed Peter to finally bring it down.
Libra was then revealed to be intergalactic porn-star M’rrgla Qualtz, who, while incarcerated, attempted to manipulate Jack with her telepathy. Jack broke free, but began to worry that Qualtz would escape justice because of her wealthy companions.
Her worries were soon abated, however, when Commissioner Ultima attacked the police station and killed Qualtz, also murdering Girl One and burying Toybox beneath rubble. Jack was called to save Toybox’s life.
Following the death of Qualtz, popular music-star Bluejay had also recently been murdered. Jack and the now-recovered Peregrine soon discovered that Bluejay and Qualtz had both been connected with the Seven Sentinels, a revered group of ‘recorded’ adventurers. Upon viewing old reels of the Seven Sentinels, Jack Phantom and Peregrine stumbled upon a shocking discovery – the Seven Sentinels were actually a pedophile ring, operating under the façade of heroic adventurers. Their under-age sidekicks, the Young Sentinels, were not only actors but also sexual abuse cases.
Jack Phantom and Peregrine called a meeting to alert the rest of the Precinct Ten staff, where they dispatched the officers. Jack Phantom and Peregrine sought out Delia Spyros, the “Sun Woman”, and arrested her, though Jack had to restrain Peregrine to keep her from badly wounding Spyros.
Jack Phantom is still a Sergeant at Precinct Ten, with the ability to convert her body into photons, thus making her intangible.
