"We have begun the initial work on season three, which at the moment is for 13 episodes," Johnson said. "Story writing has commenced, and we're in the process of working out a general plan. We won't be abandoning the elements that have made the series what it is, accessible high-school kids with mutant powers, but we also hope to push our characters into new directions and challenges. As the title suggests, this is an Evolution."

It was obvious wasn't it?
I can guarantee it that they'll have 17 ordered for season 3 by the end of season 2.

What is the most Kids WB can order? Or is 17 the average for shows?

I pretty much knew that X Men Evolution would get picked up for a third season. It has been so successful lately that it was obvious what was going to happen. There is one thing that I am curious about, though. The way things have been carrying on, I was wondering if there was going to be an X Men Evolution spin off starring the New Mutants. Don't you think they deserved it by now, or is the Kids WB going to wait until the end of X Men Evolution Season 3 to make that kind of decision?

Personally, I think it would be a great idea. Have X Men Evolution and New Mutants back to back on Saturday mornings. That would be kind of cool.

No spinoffs! This cannot happen anywhere outside of Frasier. My main concern is that say they do make the spinoff, yet instead of one great show, we have two shows that are only ho-hum. And people might lose interest with either show, thus that show being canned. And then they get turned off by the show still around (do you see the infinite collapse of the Evolution empire?)

One show is fine. Anything that needs to be told outside could be done with the comic, which is very soon going to have the Brotherhood issue for those fans.

So lets just sit back and enjoy the show:)

No matter how much I might like some of the New Mutants, I dont' think I'd bother watching a spinoff. As for the number of eps they'll make for season 3, I'm hoping for 17 or more. :)

Please keep in mind that it was only a suggestion. However, if the New Mutants are ever really going to get to be in the spotlight, it would have to be in their own show. Even you have to aggree with me on that.

Why can't it be a 22 episode season like other shows? 13 is pitiful, and 17 isn't nearly enough.

Yes, but with X-Men Evolution, alot more effort and time is put into the stories making this show far more superior than other series. So you can't really expect X-Men Evolution to have a 52 episode season like Pokemon, because this show doesn't recycle plot lines or throw in boring episodes.

I was thinking the same thing too. Also, when are they going to make Beast a permamnent member of the X Men? Don't you think it has been long enough for him already? And shouldn't Angel join the X Men soon? After all, Apocalypse was barely mentioned at the end of Mindbender.

They would have to make him a member of the team before Apocalypse got to him. It just wouldn't make any sense.

I've been nothing but impressed with the series and it doesn't surprise me in the least it got picked up for a third season. While I find it minorly distressing there will only be seventeen episodes to look forward to...c'mon it's seventeen...it really could be worse. And I truly agree it's quality over quantity.

Especially with this new plotline with Apocalypse in the works and did anybody notice in 'Shadow Dance,' Kurt's date was named Amanda...Sefton perhaps. Sadly they didn't say, but the Evolution team always has some surprising little links to keep us guessing.

The whole Apocalypse plotline truly surprised me. That is going to be interesting, seeing Apocalypse show up on X Men Evolution. Like I have said before, I just didn't expect him to be on the show. I guess it is because X Men Evolution is directed more to children than the previous cartoon was. About Amanda Sefton... I didn't think of that.

It wasn't until you mentioned it that it occurred to me. However, I do have a problem with this. Wasn't Amanda Sefton white? I could have sworn she was. In the cartoon, she's an African American (I could be wrong).

I don't have any problems with the change, but it does seem a bit confusing.

this is a great series with a lot of potential, I'm extremely pleased that it's going to have another season (and I hope a 4th as well!).

I think each season is going to have its very own major bad guy. Last season it was Magneto, and perhaps this season it will be Apocalypse. Who knows? In Season 3 it could very well be Sinister.

The FOH were a group opposed to mutants. It was run by Graydon Creed (sabretooh and mystique's son) and basically they were the KKK of the mutant world.

I can't wait! Anyone know if WB is going to release more of the episodes on video for those of those who are too impatient to wait for the episodes we missed to air?

So far all they've done is release the majority of season 1 on VHS. Hopefully they'll put it on DVD. And they probably won't put season 2 on VHS til 3 starts. By then, you'll probably see the eps you missed.

Hopeully the show will be put on DVD, and with whatever parts were cut from episodes as well (like the infamous cut scene from Growing Pains)

I know they're going to mix and match the new mutants in with the older ones, but I still hope they feature the original ones a bit. I like them a lot. And put Gambit in a trenchcoat for crying out loud!

You know what they should do about the videos is put the entire season on one DVD and the entire second season on another and just sell those instead of having to make us buy 2 million tapes
