X-Fan recently caught up with McIver to find out more about the game, how it compares to WizKids breakout success Mage Knight, and what both gaming and comics fans alike can expect from HeroClix.

Will it be easy for those both familiar and unfamiliar with MK to pick it up?
McIVER: Since HeroClix uses WizKids' combat dial system, there are plenty of comparisons that can be made between the two systems. Gamers who are familiar with Mage Knight will pick up HeroClix in no time. Others will catch on quickly as well.

McIVER: Rumor has it that 150 characters made the final cut after playtesting wrapped.
X-FAN: Will there be any unique characters?
McIVER: With a universe with as many rich, interesting characters as Marvel, it would have been very easy to make each character a Unique. However, making such popular characters rare and hard to find would turn people away from the game. WizKids has come up with a very good solution to the problem that will allow casual gamers to easily collect the characters they love and still have rare special characters for the hardcore collector.
X-FAN: Will organizations from the Marvel Universe such as the terrorist group Hydra, the Hand ninjas, or the N.Y.P.D. be represented in HeroClix?
<a href="http://x-mencomics.com/xfan/images/games/heroclix_wolverine2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://x-mencomics.com/xfan/images/games/heroclix_wolverine2t.jpg" align=right alt="Marvel HeroClix CMG Wolverine figure preview"></a>McIVER: Yes, there are two very prominent organizations that are included in the first set.
X-FAN: Will characters be relative size-wise? For example, will Wolverine be shorter than the other figures? Hulk taller?
McIVER: The first few pictures that WizKids have released of HeroClix figures show that Wolverine is in fact a tad shorter than other figures, and the Hulk towers over them all.
X-FAN: How will the wide variety of super-powers be represented in HeroClix?
<a href="http://x-mencomics.com/xfan/images/games/heroclix_hulk.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://x-mencomics.com/xfan/images/games/heroclix_hulkt.jpg" align=left alt="Marvel HeroClix CMG Hulk figure preview"></a>McIVER: Amazingly, WizKids has figured out how to include the super powers of all the characters in the first set.
X-FAN: How easy will it be for fans to utilize characters from the DC HeroClix game in Marvel HeroClix (and vice versa)?
McIVER: The characters in both games are supposed to be completely compatible. Which means you can stage all the Marvel versus DC battles you have always wanted to see!

McIVER: I imagine if the game is successful, they will continue to support it with new expansions and other accessories for HeroClix.
