In an article in a recent issue of Scrye magazine (#48, Jan/Feb 2002, on sale now), Leitheusser gave some more details on the CMG which is due to street in May.

"They'll use the same point system as Mage Knight," Leitheusser said of both the Marvel and DC games. "So just like the comics, Magneto at his most powerful can put up a fair fight against a bunch of the X-Men. It's possible to run team games, one-on-one conflicts, and prety much anything else you can imagine. The figures are about 35mm scale, so they're slightly larger than Mage Knight figures. They'll work perfectly with standard O-scale model train scenery and accessories (which are 32mm)."

There are some fantastic opportunities for larger figures, such as the Avengers' Quinjet or Sentinel robots."

A Sentinel figure has since been confirmed for a June release. See "SENTINELS STRIKE IN MARVEL HEROCLIX CMG (http://x-mencomics.com/xfan/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2384)" for more details.

Well I think that adding regular heros like police officers and fire fighters is a real nice move. It just makes the game that much more interesting.

And in light of 9-11, I think its an excellent move on WizKids part as those guys are the real heroes, and deserve to be portrayed/promoted as such!

I think it's a great idea for police officers and firefighters to be in hero clix.

Even before Sept 11th these men/women have been putting their lives for us. Giving them a little more recognition is an excellent thing.

Also having a bunch of superheroes duke it out is one thing but having everyday heroes in the game has the potential of creating a greater sense of reality and in turn a better game. I'm all for that to.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ....

I can only help but wonder if a platoon of dwarven fusers can take down a storm golem then can a precent of NYC's finest stop Galactus?

This is turning into a very interesting game. By adding firemen, policemenand regular people, one could do some very interesting things. I wonder if they will add army figures and tanks, it would make Hulk rampages so much more fun. HULK SMASH!

Maybe I think it is just "cashing in on death" or something, but why after the events of 9/11 is Marvel and other places coming out with Policeman/Policewomen this, Fireman/Firewoman that, and Ambulancemen/Ambulancewomen this.............. why did it take the deaths of all those people to realize that they were "heroes" long before 9/11? Marvel and TSR placed Police in the MARVEL SUPERHEROES ROLE PLAYING GAME before and never made a big deal about it.

I don't like to think that they're cashing in on the deaths of 9/11, as much as they're just trying to remind everyone that these people are heros too.

They're not exactly making a "big deal" out of this, either. I only did an article on it because it was new information that fans awaiting HeroClix may have been interested to read.

Yeah, but they should have done that before 9/11. Why wait until after something like what happened to say "These men and women are heroes", when they should have done it in the first place.

I don't mean to make it out the they (HEROCLIX CMG) in particular are. With all the HEROES, 911, THE CALL, and other things that the comicbook industry is doing because of the events on 9/11, why did it takes the deaths of people to realize that police officers, fire fighters, doctors, and others are "heroes", when they should have done it before the events of 9/11.
