Leech, now a young man, resided with the X-Men at Los Angeles until the Sentinels came for them. They were rescued by Magneto, and then joined him on his mission to destroy the Hellfire Club's Cataclysm Engine.
While Jubilee accompanied Magneto and Wolverine, Leech went with Synch to Portland, Oregon. There they met up with Charlotte Jones and were going to reorganize the resistance, but were captured by Baron Zemo and the Thunderbolts. Taken prisoner to the Hoover Dam, Leech and Synch were freed by Wolverine and his foster daughter Amiko. Leech then helped his fellow X-Men in destroying the Cataclysm Engine, and rescue the Scarlet Witch.
