Purpose: To execute the orders of Mister Sinister.
First Appearance: X-Factor (1st series) #74 (Slab, mentioned), X-Factor (1st series) #75 (full team)
Known Members: Ruckus, Ramrod III, Slab, Hairbag, Gorgeous George
Known Former Members: Multiple Man (duplicate)
Known Allies: Mister Sinister (leader), Mutant Liberation Front, formerly Senator Steven Shaffran
Major Enemies: X-Men, formerly X-Factor II, Malice IV
Profile: Like the Marauders, the Nasty Boys are a group of mutant under the employ of Mister Sinister. Though working for Sinister, they live an unkempt lifestyle much to his annoyance. The Nasty Boys clashed with the U.S. government-sponsored team X-Factor on a few separate occasions, and their field leader Ruckus once encountered the X-Men. They have remained out of sight since then, but it's most likely that they still remain at Sinister's command.
History: The Nasty Boys first made contact with X-Factor when Slab held some hostages at the Washington Monument and challenged Strong Guy. During their fight, Slab caused Strong Guy to inadvertently knock down the monument. The hostages were saved, but Slab escaped and the Nasty Boys' plan of discrediting X-Factor worked. Their ally, Senator Steven Shaffran, used this incident to try to get X-Factor disbanded. Also working with the Nasty Boys at the time was a rogue duplicate of Multiple Man. However, the real Multiple Man later absorbed his double and tried to warn everyone of the conspiracy between the Mister Sinister and the senator. The Nasty Boys were sent to stop him and found him outside the Capitol. They also came across X-Factor there and fought them. The Nasty Boys lost to X-Factor, and Hairbag, Ramrod and Slab were sent to prison. Soon after, Sinister had Shaffran killed. [X-Factor (1st series) #74-75]
The Nasty Boys who were captured remained in custody for a while, except for Ramrod who was deported. Hairbag and Slab were eventually freed by the Mutant Liberation Front and despite Hairbag wanting to stay with them, Mr. Sinister intended for him and Slab to return to the Nasty Boys. Slab managed to stay with the MLF for awhile, until their defeat by the combined efforts of the X-Men, X-Factor, and X-Force. [X-Factor (1st series) #77-78, X-Men (2nd series) #15]
Later, when the team was reunited, the Nasty Boys traveled with Sinister to Honolulu. There, they were to apprehend the former Marauder Malice, who was possessing X-Factor's leader Havok. They briefly fought with X-Factor again, until Polaris confirmed to her teammates that Malice was controlling Havok. The Nasty Boys and X-Factor worked together against Malice until Havok and Polaris were both freed from her. Sinister destroyed Malice, and then he and the Nasty Boys departed Honolulu. [X-Factor (1st series) #104-105]
Since the time they fought Malice, the Nasty Boys as a group haven't been seen or heard of. Later on though, their field leader Ruckus would try to assassinate Senator Robert Kelly. Ruckus's efforts were thwarted when the X-Men caught him. [X-Men Forever #1]
