These waves will emanate from his body in all directions unless he tries to channel them in a single direction. Anything other than an omnidirectional wave is physically exhausting over time.
In our reality, Alexander Summers served under the name Havok as the leader of the government funded mutant agency X-Factor. He fell in love with Lorna Dane, also known as Polaris, and they both served for a time as X-Men before joining X-Factor.
