<B>Powers:</B> An untested, experimental formula gifted Norman Osborn with super-human strength, a heightened intellect and a regenerative healing factor at the cost of his sanity. The Green Goblin employs a variety of weapons of his own design, including incendiary and concussion grenades constructed in the form of miniature jack o' lanterns and a gas that can neutralize Spider-Man's Spider-Sense.
In our reality, Norman Osborn was the ruthless co owner of a leading New York chemical manufacturing firm and was obsessed with gaining increasing amounts of wealth and power, even by unethical means. When he discovered that his partner Mendel Stromm had taken a sum of money from the company for his personal use, Osborn seized the opportunity to have him arrested and jailed for theft, despite knowing that Stromm intended to pay back the money. With Stromm gone, Osborn tried to re-create a formula that Stromm had been developing with the intention of using it to increase a person's intelligence and physical strength. The solution turned green, exploded, and would increase his intelligence dramatically, but what Osborn did not realize was that it had also driven him insane. He decided to become a criminal and to use his increased intelligence to build upon his company's scientific devices and chemical discoveries and turn them into weapons. He designed a costume colored green after the solution, named himself the Green Goblin, and decided to begin his career by killing Spider-Man, had only recently become a crime fighter.

Osborne was one of many unwilling participants in the Skrull's Games up until their evacuation of Earth because of the arrival of Terrax. While the newly emancipated gladiators were getting their first taste of freedom, they found Terrax terrorizing their people and launched an attack the Herald of Galactus. Because we do not see Norman after this, it is possible that he was slain.
