Onyxx tries to make time with Foxx and is rudely rejected. Alex tries to get Lorna to talk about what she saw in space last issue and she doesn't want to. Continuity error: Gambit refers to Rogue as Mystique's stepdaughter instead of her foster daughter.
Emma's second telepathic session with Gambit and Rogue is ruined when Gambit "sees" Rogue turn into Foxx and start choking him. Gambit takes his students out on a field exercise. Bling is attracted to Foxx, but loses that when Foxx later starts to strangle her. Onyxx attacks Gambit, claiming he's leading Foxx on. In the Cerebra room, Emma and her Cuckoos feel there's something wrong, but can't pin it down. In the cafeteria, Rogue apologizes to Iceman and Polaris. Nightcrawler tries to ask Lorna about what she saw in outer space. Alex sent him to ask.
When Gambit and his students return, Rogue doesn't turn up for Emma's next telepathic session. Gambit finds her outside. She suggests he should take up with Foxx. Gambit wants Rogue. Gambit goes to Foxx to tell her he's going to have her transferred to another class. Foxx reveals herself to be Mystique and then shapeshifts to Rogue to try to seduce him.

Introducing Mystique's friend, the thief, who may or may not be Fantomex; and two young human men, one of whom is named "Nat"
Villains: Foxx/Mystique
Continuity error: If Xavier couldn't read Mystique's mind, why would she need help against less powerful telepaths?
Mystique calls her mysterious friend to ask for a "telepath protection" booster just as he's about to rob some rich people's house. Nat is the human who hears him, but the other boy convinces him it was nothing. Remy doesn't tell Rogue that Foxx is Mystique. Lorna doesn't want Emma to read her mind to find out what she saw in space. Emma turns down Alex's request she do it without Lorna knowing. Alex tells Lorna he still loves her.
Rogue finds Foxx and starts to chat, but Emma has used Cerebra more successfully this time and brings the team to confront Foxx. Foxx changes back to Mystique. Emma reveals that Gambit isn't surprised. Mystique's attempt to escape fails. She and Gambit start fighting until Rogue uses fire to stop them. Mystique asks to join the X-Men. She is placed in a cell until the senior X-Men can gather to vote on her request. Scott and Emma discuss Mystique. Rogue tries to find out if Mystique and Gambit had sex. .

Continuity ignored: Rogue talks to Emma about how faithful & true Scott is as if Madelyne and Jean never existed. No one brings up Mystique changing the Legacy Virus so it attacks humans, stabbing Rogue and Banshee, or her fatal wounding of Dr. Moira MacTaggert. See the X:Men: Dream's End trade for everything but Banshee. That happened in "Uncanny" #405.
Rogue is unable to get any useful memories from Mystique. Rogue is nasty when she finds Gambit tutoring Bling, but later apologizes to the girl and, at Bling's request, explains what's going on.
Gambit's students watch the arrival of some of the other X-Men. Bling explains that Foxx is Mystique. Onyxx doesn't want to believe it.
Rogue tries to get Emma to secretly read Gambit's mind.
Emma asks Scott if he would be tempted by another woman if he couldn't touch her. Scott says he'd throw himself even more into his work.
Mystique tries to play on the X-Men's sympathies. They argue about whether or not to admit her. They decide to make her a probationary member. Onyxx enters Mystique's cell and attacks her when she rejects him. Mystique wins. Nightcrawler teleports in and asks Mystique to disappear for awhile no matter which way the vote goes so he can deal with the idea that she'll be around. Mystique leaves before she learns what the vote was. Augustus picks her up. We do not learn if Remy & Raven had sex.

Introducing: Alex Roberts, Pulitzer-winning correspondent and an African country called "Niganda" that borders the Black Panther's country, Wakanda.
Deaths: Alex Roberts and, most probably, the villain of the issue
Villain: Not onstage in this issue, but his mutated animals are. There's also a very nasty soldier who throws good people into a pit.
Alex Roberts, reporting from the African country of Niganda, gets snatched (on camera) by what looks like a mutated crocodile. Emma sends Havok's team to investigate. Storm insists on accompanying them. Emma decides to stay behind and use Cerebra to help.
The nasty soldier is first shown knocking a doctor into a pit because he treated a dying official of the Niganda Peoples' Liberation Army. The pit has what looks like a huge, mutated lion chained at the bottom.
Gambit tells Rogue that he's not going to keep saying he's sorry for something he didn't even do. Storm remembers her girlhood in Africa when she was considered a goddess. Emma reports that she's tried to contact the Black Panther, but he seems to have disappeared. Storm gets caught by one of the mutant crocodiles, but her lightning scrambles their senses and Rogue, Iceman, Polaris, and Havok take care of them. (Polaris uses her powers at the same time as Havok instead of Iceman, as Bobby wanted.)
Storm prevents the nasty soldier from killing a woman and her child. He tries to shoot Storm, but Wolverine punches him into his own pit.
The team visits a building the local people called "the Factory", where they find caged monsters. By issue's end, they find the Black Panther working on a computer. A man with blood on his temple lies on the floor nearby.
Havok and Iceman bicker. Gambit and Rogue bicker. Storm is rather overbearing. This is the issue where Emma Frost teases Havok by telling Storm (in Havok's presence) that, "You know that Alexander has a problem playing second fiddle to just one woman. Imagine if we both went. He might blow a fuse.", and Alex retorts, "I think you're confusing me with my brother."
This story is continued in "Black Panther" (4th series) #8.

Onyxx tries to make time with Foxx and is rudely rejected. Alex tries to get Lorna to talk about what she saw in space last issue and she doesn't want to. Lorna tires of Alex and Bobby's sniping and magnetically repels them. Remy takes out his frustration sparring with his students. Logan eats with Rogue and badmouths Gambit. Foxx tries to seduce Gambit in the shower.

Emma's second telepathic session with Gambit and Rogue is ruined when Gambit "sees" Rogue turn into Foxx and start choking him. Gambit takes his students out on a field exercise. Bling is attracted to Foxx, but loses that when Foxx later starts to strangle her. Onyxx attacks Gambit, claiming he's leading Foxx on. In the Cerebra room, Emma and her Cuckoos feel there's something wrong, but can't pin it down. In the cafeteria, Rogue apologizes to Iceman and Polaris. Nightcrawler tries to ask Lorna about what she saw in outer space. Alex sent him to ask.
When Gambit and his students return, Rogue doesn't turn up for Emma's next telepathic session. Gambit finds her outside. She suggests he should take up with Foxx. Gambit wants Rogue. Gambit goes to Foxx to tell her he's going to have her transferred to another class. Foxx reveals herself to be Mystique and then shapeshifts to Rogue to try to seduce him.

Continuity error: If Xavier couldn't read Mystique's mind, why would she need help against less powerful telepaths?
Mystique calls her mysterious friend to ask for a "telepath protection" booster just as he's about to rob some rich people's house. Nat is the human who hears him, but the other boy convinces him it was nothing. Remy doesn't tell Rogue that Foxx is Mystique. Lorna doesn't want Emma to read her mind to find out what she saw in space. Emma turns down Alex's request she do it without Lorna knowing. Alex tells Lorna he still loves her.
Rogue finds Foxx and starts to chat, but Emma has used Cerebra more successfully this time and brings the team to confront Foxx. Foxx changes back to Mystique. Emma reveals that Gambit isn't surprised. Mystique's attempt to escape fails. She and Gambit start fighting until Rogue uses fire to stop them. Mystique asks to join the X-Men. She is placed in a cell until the senior X-Men can gather to vote on her request. Scott and Emma discuss Mystique. Rogue tries to find out if Mystique and Gambit had sex. .

Continuity ignored: Rogue talks to Emma about how faithful & true Scott is as if Madelyne and Jean never existed. No one brings up Mystique changing the Legacy Virus so it attacks humans, stabbing Rogue and Banshee, or her fatal wounding of Dr. Moira MacTaggert. See the X:Men: Dream's End trade for everything but Banshee. That happened in "Uncanny" #405.
Rogue is unable to get any useful memories from Mystique. Rogue is nasty when she finds Gambit tutoring Bling, but later apologizes to the girl and, at Bling's request, explains what's going on.
Gambit's students watch the arrival of some of the other X-Men. Bling explains that Foxx is Mystique. Onyxx doesn't want to believe it.
Rogue tries to get Emma to secretly read Gambit's mind.
Emma asks Scott if he would be tempted by another woman if he couldn't touch her. Scott says he'd throw himself even more into his work.
Mystique tries to play on the X-Men's sympathies. They argue about whether or not to admit her. They decide to make her a probationary member. Onyxx enters Mystique's cell and attacks her when she rejects him. Mystique wins. Nightcrawler teleports in and asks Mystique to disappear for awhile no matter which way the vote goes so he can deal with the idea that she'll be around. Mystique leaves before she learns what the vote was. Augustus picks her up. We do not learn if Remy & Raven had sex.

Introducing: Alex Roberts, Pulitzer-winning correspondent and an African country called "Niganda" that borders the Black Panther's country, Wakanda.
Deaths: Alex Roberts and, most probably, the villain of the issue
Villain: Not onstage in this issue, but his mutated animals are. There's also a very nasty soldier who throws good people into a pit.
Alex Roberts, reporting from the African country of Niganda, gets snatched (on camera) by what looks like a mutated crocodile. Emma sends Havok's team to investigate. Storm insists on accompanying them. Emma decides to stay behind and use Cerebra to help.
The nasty soldier is first shown knocking a doctor into a pit because he treated a dying official of the Niganda Peoples' Liberation Army. The pit has what looks like a huge, mutated lion chained at the bottom.
Gambit tells Rogue that he's not going to keep saying he's sorry for something he didn't even do. Storm remembers her girlhood in Africa when she was considered a goddess. Emma reports that she's tried to contact the Black Panther, but he seems to have disappeared. Storm gets caught by one of the mutant crocodiles, but her lightning scrambles their senses and Rogue, Iceman, Polaris, and Havok take care of them. (Polaris uses her powers at the same time as Havok instead of Iceman, as Bobby wanted.)
Storm prevents the nasty soldier from killing a woman and her child. He tries to shoot Storm, but Wolverine punches him into his own pit.
The team visits a building the local people called "the Factory", where they find caged monsters. By issue's end, they find the Black Panther working on a computer. A man with blood on his temple lies on the floor nearby.
Havok and Iceman bicker. Gambit and Rogue bicker. Storm is rather overbearing. This is the issue where Emma Frost teases Havok by telling Storm (in Havok's presence) that, "You know that Alexander has a problem playing second fiddle to just one woman. Imagine if we both went. He might blow a fuse.", and Alex retorts, "I think you're confusing me with my brother."
This story is continued in "Black Panther" (4th series) #8.
