In our reality, Lord Montgomery Falsworth, the original Union Jack, hoped that his daugher Jacqueline's son Kenneth Crichton would become the third Union Jack, but Kenneth had no desire to do so. Crichton discovered that Baron Blood was masquerading as his Grandfather's physician Dr. Cromwell, a revelation that would lead to his death at the hands of Captain America. Captain America devised a plan to lure out Baron Blood using Crichton's friend Joseph Chapman disguised in the Union Jack costume serving as bait. Although Chapman, as Union Jack, battled Baron Blood, it was Captain America who finally slew the vampire by beheading him, thereby ending his vampiric life permanently. Joseph Chapman has continued to operate as the third Union Jack, carrying on the noble tradition of both Montgomery and Brian Falsworth. Meanwhile, Kenneth Crichton would eventually be transformed into a vampire and be killed.

Lord Kenneth Crichton is the son of Lady Jaqueline Falsworth Crichton, daughter of the original Union Jack, Lord Montgomery Falsworth. Like his Uncle and Grandfather before him who became Union Jack and fought against his Great-Uncle, the then Vampire King Baron Blood, Lord Kenneth would also don the mantle of Union Jack to battle Vampires and the Vampre King of his time Captain America. However, Crichton was beaten by Captain America and his face was left brutally scarred. Although he was allowed to live, his shameful defeat caused him to retire as Union Jack.
When the Exiles needed stop the Vampire King from releasing the Macodibe Enchatment that would enslave a city, they solicited help from Crichton. Although he provided them with as much information as he could, he refused to aid them in person. Shortly thereafter, the Exiles would pay him a visit seeking his expertise after an encounter with Captain America and his Vampire Avengers. One of their team members, Sunfire, had been bitten by a Cursed Avenger and was transforming quickly into the Nosferatu. Crichton administered several anti-toxins to slow down her immersion, but revealed that the only way to ensure she did not become a Vampire was to sever the bloodline of her maker. Because Captain America had already begun the Macodibe Enchatment, the incantation which would also render him nearly invincible, the only weapon capable of striking him down would be Magik's Soul Sword.
Donning his costume once again, Crichton joined the Exiles as they journeyed to clash with Captain America and his Cursed Avengers once again. They arrived as the Vampire King was still reciting the Macodibe Enchatment and disturbed the ritual before Captain America had a chance to finish the incantation. After some struggle, Crichton punched Captain America, causing him to fall on to Magik's Soul Sword.
Although Crichton aided the Exiles in preventing Sunfire from transforming into a Vampire, he had an ulterior motive for slaying Captain America. When Crichton and Captain America last met, Crichton was turned into a Vampire himself and left alive to live in shame and humiliation. With Captain America now dead, Crichton becamse the rightful heir to the mantle of Vampire King by way of his Great-Uncle.
At his moment of ascension, he looked to bringing the Exiles into his fold and converting them into Vampires, but was incinerated by a recently revitalized Sunfire. Just as the Exiles began teleporting to their next dimension, Crichton's slowly burning body had enough energy left to cast an incantation that caused the Exiles to be split apart on different worlds in different times.
