Real Name: Blackagar Boltagon
Group Affiliation: Inhumans
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 210 lbs.
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Black
Powers: Black Bolt's brain contains a mechanism that generates an unknown phenomena which, at maximum force, is equivalent to the detonation of a nuclear weapon. He can channel this energy inwardly to enhance his own body's speed and strength and enable him to defy gravity.

In our reality, Black Bolt was born to two of Attilan's top geneticists, Agon, head of the ruling Council of Genetics, and Rynda, director of the Prenatal Care Center. He discovered his younger brother Maximus in the process of making a treacherous pact with emissaries of the alien Kree. Attempting to stop the Kree ship before it escaped, Bolt used the forbidden power of his quasi-sonic voice to knock the ship out of the sky. When the ship crashed to Earth, it landed on the parliament, killing several key members of the Council of Genetics, including his parents, Agon and Rynda. The reverberations of his brother's shout affected Maximus's sanity and suppressed his nascent mental powers. Despite his guilt and silent protests, Black Bolt was obligated to accept the mantle of leadership.

During the Mutant War, Reed Richards discovered Iron Man's ultimate plan for power, but this revelation would mean death for Richards as well as Medusa, the wife of Black Bolt, and dozens of others. In a matter of time, Susan Richards and Black Bolt would find comfort from their grief in eachother's arms. This comfort would become love and Susan would eventually take her place as Queen of the Inhumans.

Following significant damage to the stabilizers of Attilan, the mobile home of the Inhumans required maintenance and repairs that would compromise their cloaking from Iron Man, the undisputed ruler of Earth who sought to capture and study the Inhumans in order to breed an army of superhumans. Subsequently, Black Bolt gave the orders to prepare and erect the G-Barrier, a mighty force-field left to them by Reed Richards that was so immense in power that even Galactus could not breech it.

In due time, Iron Man would acquire the means to bring down the G-Barrier and Black Bolt would prepare a squadron of Inhumans for battle. While these warrirors kept Iron Man's forces occupied outside the G-Barrier, inside their defenses Black Bolt initiated a plan that guaranteed the Inhumans would never be hunted again as he read aloud the story of the Masada. His loud booming voice laying waste to his kinsmen, Black Bolt chose for the Inhumans death at their own hands rather than enslavement, bondage, and torture. However, all was not lost as Black Bolt had his wife Susan lead an ark of hope to rebuild their race by cloaking three hundred Inhumans. These remaining Inhumans would later exact revenge for their people.
