Plot: Spider-Man and the Chameleon hunt one another, and things get personal.

Reading Order:

Part 1 - Spider-Man (1st series) #45 - Spider-Man beats up some of the Chameleon’s goons as payback for the Chameleon’s recent manipulation.
Part 2 - Spectacular Spider-Man (1st series) #211 - Spider-Man takes out his anger on every thug in town, then on a man in battle armor who was hired by the Chameleon.
Part 3 - Web of Spider-Man #112 - The Chameleon frees and arms some convicts as a distraction for Spider-Man, then lures him to the place where Kraven once buried him alive.
Part 4 - Amazing Spider-Man (1st series) #389 - Spider-Man defeats and demoralizes the Chameleon, and discovers the late Harry Osborn was the one who masterminded the arrival of his “parents”.

Related Issues:
Amazing Spider-Man (1st series) #365 - Peter meets his parents, believed to have died years ago.
Amazing Spider-Man (1st series) #388 - Peter’s parents turn out to be robotic constructs created by the Chameleon, which are destroyed at the end of the issue.Notes:
Amazing Spider-Man (1st series) #388 immediately precedes this crossover, and its events are partially retold in Part 1. However, the retelling is in many ways inconsistent with the actual contents of the earlier story.
Spider-Man was buried alive by Kraven in Web of Spider-Man #31.
The Chameleon wants payback on Spider-Man for driving Kraven to suicide in Amazing Spider-Man (1st series) #294.
Harry Osborn was the second Green Goblin, and knew Spider-Man’s identity. He died in Spectacular Spider-Man (1st series) #200, due to complications from a new goblin serum.
