The fact that this isn't outselling books like X-Treme, Uncanny, and Wolverine:The End is apalling.

Pick this up today!

Hadn't heard of this title before, but now I'm definitely gonna have a look for this trade next time i go to the store.

Is this an ongoing or a limited series?

I enjoy this book. The story's are long and drawn out, but it's done in such a smooth way that I forgive them. I don't have the issues in front of me, but in one every member of the scattered crew makes their way to a warehouse, and that's it. Realistically, the whole issue could've been squeezed into half a dozen pages, but Diggle's dialog and Jock's excellent panels make me forget about that. They make the story seem like it can't be presented any other way, and after seeing it, I don't think I want to.

The only thing I'm not sure about is how this will read in trade form. A lot of the appeal are the fabulous cliffhangers and it might be devauled some when collected. Sometimes I get that feeling reading Y in trades.

And then, in a couple years, when Hollywood makes a watered-down, lacklustre version with a big but wasted budget and casts Jennifer Lopez in the role of an Afghan freedom fighter, you’ll be so much cooler and informed when you tell people that it doesn’t even hold a candle to the original.

You mean I get to be one of those annoying the book was better people. Awesome. I always wanted to be one of those but don't read enough Grisham or watch enough Lifetime for my Jackie Collins or Danielle Steel adaptations. When I do catch a JC or a DS movie, I usually watch them alone sobbing over a pint of Ben & Jerry's Chunk Monkey. That's right I read Danielle Steel. You got a problem with that? Check out Answered Prayers and we'll see if you're singing a different tune.

No, that's just upsetting. Now the large margin they're outselling Losers by is appalling. People who aren't reading this title should give this trade a try. It's only 9.95 for I believe 6 issues. That's $1.66 an issue. In fact that's cheaper than buying the issues individually.

Really? I've got to say that this feels like one of the least drawn-out books on the market. You can hardly go three or four pages without somebody getting shot or a major plot point taking a twist. I honestly don't th ink there' s a single wasted page or panel.

The only thing I'm not sure about is how this will read in trade form. A lot of the appeal are the fabulous cliffhangers and it might be devauled some when collected.

Well, this was my first time reading it and I didn't see any problems (which is probably obvious from the review). I can see your point about the cliffhangers, but they're still effective even though the next issue is just a page away.

I understand your point about Y, and I think that if a book is relying on cliffhangers just as cliffhangers, it's going to be unsuccessful. Y is a book that I'll re-read repeatedly, and I find the cliffhangers -- which are really just unexpected plot twists when collected -- still leave me breathless.

As it is, The Loser trade kept me up way past my bedtime, since there was simply no good "break point" after the first chapter.

First time reading it!? *Gasp!* I've been with it since the beginning. I picked up #1 originally because the story seemed cool, but Diggle and Jock have literally done their own title: "Upped the Ante."

Go buy this. NOW. Even if you're already reading it, buy it anyways. And Ryan, shame on you for not picking this up earlier.
