yay! More Kev!

also very sweet that they got Russell to do the fiftieth issue to the rightful heir of the Throne of Sandman. ;) From the sound of it, this issue of Lucifer should be able to stand up to the classic "Ramadan"

WHOAH! The cover preview to the final ish of Rose & Thorn #6 totally looks like Gollum. I mean, the way, Rose/Thorn looks with her knuckles on the ground pretty much mocking the same walk Gollum does from Lord of the Rings trilogy.
I look forward to seeing how this 6-part mini series ends. As for the other books, I'm looking forward to picking up Birds of Prey #67. That looks like one very fine cover with chicks on it. And finally, I'm so looking forward to the second part of the 12-ish arc for Superman with Jim Lee providing the penciling for the interior pages. I loved his work on Batman, and I look forward to seeing his familiar work along with Scott Williams on this 12-ish arc.

I didn't like Kev too much surprisingly since I like Ennis and have grown fond of Fabry. I actually thought it was the worst Authority story I'd read. I'll wait to hear some responses on More Kev to see if I should get the trade.

Damn, Morrison's first work for his contract with DC comes out and it's Seaguy, which is kind of disappointing. I'll wait for some responses on that too.

Some awesome covers are Land's BoP, Bermejo's usual Knights, Turner's Flash, Van Sciver's JSA, and of course, Quitely's Bite Club. Damn, I can't wait to see some more work from Frank Q and I will slap myself (in joy) when it does come out.

A new Robin? Is that for real? They sound pretty serious about it, but I don't know...I might pick it up just to see.

Superman looks cool, as well as Batman/Superman.

Did anyone notice that Blackfire statue? Kinda cool little spoiler for what's coming after Raven's storyline in Teen Titans, maybe?

Or maybe not...?

I don't really like the new Firestorm look (at least the head) but who knows, maybe it will actually be good.

Seaguy!! I've missed Cameron Stewart since he left Catwoman (I know, a whole three months boohoo), and I'm looking forward to this Morrison collaboration. A little surprised to see the solit, I thought it wasn't coming out until summer.

It looks like Birds of Prey, Gotham Central, New Frontier, Rose & Thorn, Fables, Human Target, Losers (another spectacular cover), and Hard Time for me. Plus Swamp Thing, Batman, Harley and Ivy, and Kinetic in the maybe pile.

I think I'll see if Rucka's Superman is more interesting than his Wonder Woman. I've sort of lost interest in her book. I just can't seem to get into that character for very long no matter how hard I try. And yes, I realize she's guest starring in Superman this month.

Lots of stuff I'm interested in this month. Other than my usual haul of comics, there's the Gregory collection, final Transmetropolitan trade, Filth collection, and the beginning to Seaguy. I was on the fence about Firestorm, but the solicitation copy has caused me to move further away from it. I'll still flip through to see if it's just suffering from generic solicitationitis, but teenage superhero drama, complete with an abusive father figure just doesn't do it for me.

Some cool covers this month. Fables is my favorite, followed closely by (surprise) Batgirl (damn, that James Jean is talented). I'm not quite sure, however, what to make of Greg Land's Birds of Prey cover. I think the vibe is very cool and retro, but for some reason it's just not clicking with me. It might be a clash between the photorealism of the character renderings and the pop-art layout. The tension between the two is interesting, but I don't think it ultimately works. Also, choosing Land as the Hawkman cover artist strikes me as odd, because unless Sook's changed his style significantly for the book, it's going to be a fairly jarring change from cover to interiors.

SEAGUY!!! This looks amazing, I haven't read 1 bad story by Grant Morrison, and the artwork holy...!! I want to buy 'The Filth' TPB but alas I do not have the money, but at one point I will buy it. Aquaman's looking great, since Pfiefer came on it's became 1 of my favourite on-going books. The Conclusion of 'Rose and Thorn' :( need more Simone, and that BoP cover is awesome! DnA's last issue of Legion:( I hope the rumors are true, and that Waid will be taking over, as I can't think of any one else who can rival DnA's Sci-Fi writing apart from Waid.

On to the check list:

Is no one checking out the Plastic Man series? It has to be one of the most unique mainstream books out on the market right now. Superheroics, mystery, slapstick, noir. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

Or maybe not...?

Possibly. It would be kind of strange to just bring out that figure without context. But I wouldn't say necessarily the main Teen Titans book -- could be Teen Titans Go! or the animated series.

100 Bullets hasn't been solicited for the past two months' previews, but I don't think anything like that's been announced. Perhaps (could be wrong) since both writer and artist are doing their Broken City storyarc over in Batman, they're falling behind with 100 Bullets. Which doesn't necessarily mean it won't be coming out in these months... they just might not have made it in time for the preview solits.

I'm just getting my regular series:
Fables, Wildcats and Superman: Birthright

Although Superman/Batman looks amazing :O I'm just a sucker for Michael Turners art and with Jeph Loeb as writer I just might pick it up :chin:
Superman looks pretty good too.
I can't see why DC let's Matt Wagner draw so many covers I don't think his art is that spectaculair.

*sigh* Another issue of Robotech Invasion with no Yoshitaka Amano cover. Y'know, they really played up the fact that, "Ooh, cover art by the original character designer of the show!" when they started the limited series, but after that we get a swimsuit pic and then ... err, I forget what the cover to #4 looked like. Not a good sign. And now with #5 they say it's a piece by Tommy Yune when the pencil sketch accompanying the blurb is obviously by the interior artist, Takeshi Miyazawa (also putting on a good show with the current Cloak & Dagger story in Runaways).

What? Nobody gives a toss about Robotech here? Oh, right, silly me. On with the list then, folks! Peer into the narrow depths of my DC reading list! PEER!

That's a pretty cheap Empire TP, considering it contains 8 or nine issues' worth of material (with the 2 or 3 Gorilla Comics issues reprinted in DC's #0).

Let's all buy it to ensure a continuation!

And, at long last--an Orbiter softcover!
