Previously:
Wolfram von Bach, or Wolf for short, grew up with his brother Cai serving the church. Wolf eventually became a Teutonic Knight serving Pope Paul V. In service of the Pope, Wolf was sent to protect the village of Novgorod from an Eldritch hunting party.
Now:
Wolfram von Bach saw the half-human half-Eldritch woman named Hope attacking villagers who had been responsible for drowning her mother Marion. The confrontation went badly. Wolfram came to her rescue. He aided her in the proper burial of her mother and witnessed Hope manifesting Marion’s image on a gravestone. Wolf then began training her in the warrior arts and forged a sword for her from Eldritch and Human weapons. While out hunting for food, Wolf returned to see Hope in combat with his brother Cai and the Brotherhood of the Sword. Wolf announced his independence from the church and his alliance with Hope. Cai and the Brotherhood of the Sword bested Hope and Wolf in battle. The captives were then brought before the corrupt Archbishop Helmut von Krakhauer, who sentenced them to death. Hope and Wolf escaped, but found themselves trapped at the edge of an enormous chasm and certain death. Then Tvarus appeared, bearing Hope's weapons. Tvarus rescued Hope and Wolf from death at the hands of Archbishop Krakhauer’s Knights. Hope headed for Novgorod to exact vengeance on Henry, her mother’s murderer, with Wolf hot at her heels, trying to stop her. Hope was unable to exact her revenge on Henry due to the arrival of Wolf and his pursuers, Cai and the Scarlet Riders. Their battle was interrupted by a siege on the small village from Eldritch hunters. Discovering the Eldritch hunters had a fatal weakness to her sword's iron, Hope joined forces with Wolf and the other villagers in successfully overpowering the savages. Deciding not to kill Henry, Hope met her mother's sister and her daughter, who allowed Hope to stay in the village as its protector. [Lady Death: A Medieval Tale #1-2, 4-6]
