Young Kimberly Potter, a.k.a. Serpentina, was quite unlike her temperamental teammates in the X-Men of the year 2099. Although she lived in a world of tragedy and poverty, she remained a happy-go-lucky young woman; a trait that sometimes grated on the other X-Men.

Thanks to her mutant ability to contort her virtually boneless body into a snake-like form to constrict opponents, Serpentina proved a valuable member of the X-Men.

After an assassination attempt on the X-Men's leader, Xi'an, was foiled by their newest member Skullfire, Serpentina was killed in battle with the former X-Man known as Junkpile.

Later, Serpentina was resurrected into a zombie-like state by the Graverobber so as to serve as a member of the Undead - a team of resurrected mutants that the Graverobber used to attack Halo City. Under the Graverobber's influence, Serpentina attacked and killed Skullfire.

After the Graverobber was defeated, the reanimated mutants returned to their previous state.
