Using his mutant ability to detect and locate fellow mutants, the egotistical master swordsman Caliban was one of Apocalypse’s personal assassins, working alongside partners Domino and Grizzly. When the trio of assassins where ordered by Apocalypse to eliminate the mysterious telepathic powerhouse Nate Grey it was Caliban’s duty to locate the mutant using his tracking abilities.
Eventually the assassins caught up to Grey and his fellow Outcasts on an abandoned farmhouse where the troupe had been staying. Battle erupted between the two factions, and Caliban entered one on one sword combat with Outcast member Toad. Allowing his ego to get in the way of his fighting skills, Caliban was quickly dealt a fatal blow by the rebel mutant.
