Brian Braddock, a high ranking member of the Human High Council, was also the head of Braddock Enterprises, the company that manufactured the mutant hunting Sentinels. At some point in the past, against his will Braddock was implanted with a device that would bend him to Apocalypse’s wishes. Unable to fight off the implant’s programming, Braddock had become a servant to Apocalypse and his forces.

When the Horseman Sinister provided the Human High Council with data that proved Apocalypse was to launch a preemptive against the human saturated Europe, Braddock vocally supported a plan by the Council to launch their full armada in a doomsday strike on North America known as “Project: Scorched Earth”. After apparent assassination attempts by minions of Apocalypse, “Scorched Earth” was approved, and the armada was mobilized.

However, as the Human armada was about to cross Apocalypse’s great sea wall they came under attack by Donald Pierce and his soldiers, who were all minions of Apocalypse. Pierce boarded the armada’s flagship and immediately began killing off the Human crew. It was here that Pierce exerted his control over Braddock, and forced him to join in the attack on the crew. It was here that the true reason for Braddock’s support of “Scorched Earth” was revealed. By mobilizing the entire armada into one concentrated area it would make it that much easier for Apocalypse to destroy the Human High Council’s main line of defense.

Ordered by Pierce to kill Emma Frost, another high ranking member of the Human High Council, Braddock was finally able to overcome his programming and he shot Pierce, which sent him flying through the bridge of the ship. Pierce was not defeated however, and he used the cybernetics in his leg to impale Braddock through the back, fatally wounding him.
