"I have {the cam} set up by my drawing board," posted Fraga. "It refreshes every 15 seconds."

Fraga is filling in for regular series artist Sean Chen on issues #177 and #178 of Wolverine. (See "<a href="http://x-mencomics.com/xfan/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=841">FRAGA-TASTIC! FRAGA'S RETURN TO WOLVERINE</a>" for more details.)

"I'm usually drawing Mon-Sat 9am-10pm PST. And yeah, its funny you say 'can't slack off now' {as} that was kinda the driving force behind this idea. I hope y'all have fun. Every now and then I'll hold the page up so you can see what I'm doing. I tried to set it up so you can watch the board, but the contrast blows the lines out so its just all white... anyhow, this'll do for a bit."

"BTW, I'll only flash for $14.95 a month...."

Curious fans can check out the Web cam at http://gear23.com/g23cam.html

I have a question to ask, and although it may be a stupid one I am going to ask it anyway. Has this ever been done before?

Men, can't they even keep one little desk tidy? Tisk tisk.:p
I like the idea though, pretty cool.

Trust me when I say that my desk looks a lot worse than Fraga's at the moment. However, I imagine I'll have some cleaning up to do when I get back from Milwaukee.

Mess? Natural habitat to all geniuses. Tidy? The sign of low creativity.
Anyway, a webcam showing a guy drawing? I don't know, but I think it's kinda creepy.

Not a stupid question at all, in fact I don't recall ever hearing about or seeing any other artist setting up a Web cam so fans could watch them draw, so this could very well be a first!

BTW good job on your first article, Kim! This is way cool, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks that!

Now if only they'd set up a Web cam in the Marvel Bullpen!

Actually, it's the second that I've heard of.

Charlie Athanas and Marc Rettig--don't worry, I'd never heard of them before either. They're not pros--set up a webcam (http://www.enteract.com/~marc/comic/) for thier 24-Hour Comics (http://scottmccloud.com/inventions/24hr/24hr.html) back in September 2000. True, it was only in use for those 24 hours, but you got to see the entire comics being made from beginning to end.

Still, what Fraga is doing here is really cool. I'd imagine some aspiring artists might be able to learn some tricks of the trade from this.

You could say that Fraga is without a doubt revolutionizing how fans perceive artists when they are hard at work. What better way to do that then to position a web cam on the drawing board? :)

There's a drawing in front of the camera now or something...and here I was hoping to catch him running around in boxers. *kicks dirt* :p

Wow, he's an early bird. 8:40 AM and already at his drawing table. Wondering what that lil' book is he keeps looking in, looks like a thick comic.

He has a shiny head btw

Just gotta say that I love how you have a cap on now, especially with my previous comment about the shiny head;)

Y'know, you should like, show your work from time to time...wait, there you did it. Just two...uhm, frames or something, but still, you showed it:)

That was pretty funny. When I read that I started laughing so hard it almost brought a tear to me eye. I was just about to take a peek myself when I had to leave the room in a hurry. Is the cam still on, or did he turn it off already?

great job, kim!

it's a credit to you that I thought this scoop was Eric's!! but then again, anything having to do with Wolverine will almost automatically involve you somewhere on the board ;)

As for the artist cam, this is a cool idea. Not only does it let fans have a sneak peak at how an artist creates, but aspiring artists can get a feel for the process. Cool stuff.

I was thinking the same exact thing myself. Not in so many words, mind you, but with the same basic thought in mind. This was a great idea, and I hope other artists will follow in Fraga's footsteps. Hey, a guy can dream can't he? ;)

Whoa! That is cool! I saw what looked like a cover of Amazing Spider Man in the background but I couldn't quite make out which one it was. Also, there seemed to be something on his bed. I don't know what it was, but it seemed to be somewhat big.

Not only that, and I could be mistaken, but this mystery object I caught a glimpse of is black. I don't know. Maybe I was just seeing things and my mind was playing tricks on me. Did anybody else see what I saw?

Good question. If I were him I lower my head and cover my face with one of my hands and then I would pick my nose. Then again, that's just my opinion.

ok i was just wondering, everytime i click to look at the camera site the artist is always drawing while on the phone. I was wondering if he was talking to the writer while he was on the phone or what. Has anyoe else wondered about that? tell me if u know what the phone things about

I didn't really think much about the whole him being on the phone while he was drawing issue. He could have been talking to anyone - a friend, a family member, a co-worker, a boss, etc. Does it really matter, though? Finally we get to see an artist hard at work, and drawing Wolverine to boot! It's about damn time! ;)

I guess you didn't understand what i meant. I was wondering if he were talking to the writer on the phone while he was drawing so he could get a better perspective of how the writer wanted the drawings to be interpretted. Your right it is kewl to finally see an artist at work. I apreciate it man thats a really kewl idea u got plz keep it up

Oh, ok. I get it now. You know what? Watching Fraga draw inspired me somewhat, so I decided to do the same thing if I ever get a web cam. The first drawing that I did after watching Fraga was one of Magneto standing amongst a bunch of dead Genoshan soldiers with Sentinels flying overhead.

The second was a close up of Iron Man with his face shield reflecting the face of Ultron. When I get a web cam, those are the first two drawings I am going to show off. Thank you Fraga for being such an inspiration to me.
